PARENT STAFF ASSOCIATION
We are incredibly proud at West Hampstead to have a strong and vibrant community supporting our children. This is made possible through our dedicated Parents Staff Association.
As a parent at our school, you are automatically a member of the West Hampstead Primary Staff Association (PSA)

What is the PSA
The PSA is a group of parent and staff volunteers. We are a separate entity from the school, although we do work closely together. Our primary aim is to bring the school and local community together by running family events and activities throughout the year.
We also aim to raise extra funds to subside others through some of these events. It’s important to us that we ensure our activities are inclusive for all our children.
We are a registered charity - Charity number: 1087315.
All the money raised helps the school fund initiatives and activities that support our children's learning experience. This includes things like field trips, IT equipment, teaching kitchen equipment, books and other cultural and end-of-term activities.
The PSA committee works in partnership with the school to decide how the school will best benefit from our activities and the donations raised.
This year, the majority of our donations will support the funding of a new science garden while still being able to fund smaller activities for the children.
How can you get involved?
The PSA is only possible through the generous support of our parent and staff volunteers. And we are always looking for more support!
Volunteer
The number one way you can help is to give your time. We always need helping hands to run our PSA, anything from one hour for post-event tidy-up to running a fair stall for the day. Or if you can’t spare time during school hours, there are other ways you can help - like sourcing raffle prizes or creating posters. Whatever time you can spare, we’ll take it! Plus, it’s a great way to get to know other parents and carers.
Become a class representative
Our class reps bring the PSA, our parents/carers and the school together by supporting the work of the PSA for their child’s class and year group.
Every year group has an informal WhatsApp group which we encourage all parents or carers to join. The network is used to share information, reminders and tips about what’s going on in that year.
As a PSA class rep, you will be the point of contact for new parents/carers. You will share PSA messages about upcoming events or activities and help with event organisation when needed. But other than that, how much time you dedicate is up to you.
Class reps DO NOT act as a liaison between parents and the school and any queries or complaints should be referred to the class teacher or school office.
We’re particularly keen to get reps who can speak more than one language or who have an older sibling at the school.
Please email westhampsteadpsa@gmail.com to be put in touch with your class rep or if you would like to become a class rep and be added to the Class rep WhatsApp group.
Come to meetings or parent socials
We hold parents' coffee mornings on the last Friday of the month, every term week, in the dining hall after drop-off. Everyone is welcome (including little ones). In between, we host weekly drop-in coffee mornings every Friday. Enjoy tea, coffee and a biscuit while you socialise with other parents and carers.
We also hold local evening socials each term for those who can’t attend the morning meetings.
If you have an idea for a parent social or venue we can meet at, please email westhampsteadpsa@gmail.com
Join the Committee
The committee is elected at our Annual General Meeting (AGM) in October. The committee meets monthly to plan next month’s activities and manage the finances.
If you would like to join the committee, please email westhampsteadpsa@gmail.com.
